New trailer unveiled for The Continental: Dive into the 1970s prequel of John Wick saga, premiering September 22

Peacock, the streaming platform, has unveiled the official trailer for “The Continental,” a fresh installment in the famed “John Wick” franchise. Acting as a prequel to the Keanu Reeves-led films, this miniseries stars Mel Gibson and revolves around Winston Scott (portrayed by Colin Woodell). Scott is responsible for establishing The Continental, a chain of hotels functioning as a sanctuary for assassins. Set in the 1970s New York City, the show pays homage to the era with its disco music and club scenes, while presenting a gritty backdrop of the city’s streets.

Initially generating excitement in 2017, the project was meant for Starz but found its home on Peacock. Mel Gibson takes on the role of the fierce kingpin Cormac, joining Colin Woodell’s Winston Scott. The three-part series also features an ensemble cast including Ayomide Adegun, Peter Greene, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, and Nhung Kate.

Produced by Lionsgate Television and Thunder Road Pictures, “The Continental” is developed and executive produced by Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, and Shawn Simmons. Its premiere is scheduled for September 22, with subsequent parts releasing on September 29 and October 6.
