Netflix has released the first trailer for their new series “Guns & Gulaabs,” featuring Dulquer Salmaan and Rajkummar Rao. Created by the Indian filmmaking duo Raj & DK under their D2R Films banner, the show is set in the fictional town of Gulaabganj, paying homage to 1990s Bollywood. The storyline intertwines the lives of a lovestruck mechanic, a reluctant heir to a ruling gang, an honest officer-turned-agent-of-chaos, and a trio of schoolmates experiencing the innocence of growing up in a small town with heartbreaks and betrayals.
The cast also includes Adarsh Gourav, T.J. Bhanu, Gulshaan Devaiah, and the late Satish Kaushik in one of his final roles. Raj & DK, renowned for their hit series “The Family Man,” expressed their excitement about the project, crafting a genre-mash in a pulpy, retro style. Tanya Bami, director of series at Netflix India, described it as a delightful blend of gangster genre, desi comedy, and Bollywood flair, showcasing the creators’ distinctive style and unique performances by the talented cast.
