Michael Cera reunites with Sex Bob-Omb in animated form for Netflix’s anime “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.” The series by Science Saru follows Scott Pilgrim’s band battle and exes, based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novel. It continues from the 2010 film “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” with original actors voicing characters. Edgar Wright, the film’s director, shared the close-knit bond among the cast. O’Malley praised the humor, emotion, stunning visuals, and action. The show, written by O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski, directed by Abel Gongora, premieres Nov. 17 on Netflix, produced by UCP with several executive producers.
