The clash, akin to a repeat of history, is the second time production giant Hombale Films has taken on Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan during the festive season.
The news was confirmed through an email received by exhibitors, announcing ‘SALAAR’s’ Christmas release date. An official announcement from Hombale Films, the producers of ‘SALAAR’, is expected to be made on Friday, 29 Sept 2023.
The collision of these cinematic juggernauts isn’t unfamiliar territory for Hombale Films. Previously, in 2018, their movie ‘KGF Chapter 1’ went head-to-head against SRK’s ‘Zero’ during the Christmas season.
Adding a twist to the tale, Shah Rukh Khan had previously secured the 22 Dec 2023 date for ‘DUNKI’. However, with ‘SALAAR’ staking its claim on the same date, the clash intensifies, presenting a challenging scenario for exhibitors and cinema lovers alike.
Even Kerala distributors have received notifications from Hombale Films regarding the scheduled release of ‘SALAAR’ during Christmas. The clash has set the stage for tough times ahead, with multiple other movies also vying for attention during the festive season.
