Excel Entertainment’s latest film “Friday Night Plan”, starring Babil Khan, is set to premiere on Netflix on September 1, according to an announcement made by Netflix India on their social media pages. The movie, produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Kassim Jagmagia, promises to be an “unforgettable journey of love and laughter.”
Directed by Vatsal Neelakantan, the story follows the adventures of two unsupervised siblings on a Friday night, with Babil playing the nerdy older brother and Amrith Jayan as his mischievous younger sibling. Babil shared that the film’s theme of brotherhood felt relatable to him, given his real-life experiences with a younger brother.
Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Director of Original Films at Netflix India, expressed excitement over bringing the heartwarming tale to young adult audiences. The cast also includes Aadhya Anand, Medha Rana, Ninad Kama, and a special appearance by Juhi Chawla.
“Friday Night Plan” marks Excel Entertainment’s first high school film, and the production company is eager to share this labor of love with viewers worldwide on Netflix.
