Fans of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” can rejoice as a screen adaptation of the beloved young adult novels is set to premiere on Disney+ on Dec. 20. The long-awaited series will debut with two episodes, followed by weekly releases. A teaser for the project showcases actors Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri in the roles of Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood. The teaser provides glimpses of Greek gods, half-bloods, and iconic scenes like Camp Half-Blood. The show’s first season is based on the book “The Lightning Thief,” where Percy, a young demigod, embarks on a quest to retrieve Zeus’ stolen lightning bolt.
