Ayushmann Khurrana’s debut appearance in Dream Girl 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the successful 2019 film, Dream Girl, was revealed on Tuesday. The movie, featuring the talented Ananya Panday alongside Ayushmann, is set to grace the silver screens on August 25.
In the intriguing first look, Ayushmann adopts two distinct avatars – one as Pooja and the other as Karam. As Pooja, he adorns a blouse and skirt, showcasing long tresses while applying lipstick in front of a mirror. On the opposite side of the mirror, Ayushmann’s Karam is dressed in a pink t-shirt.
Yeh toh sirf pehli jhalak hai. Objects in the mirror are more khoobsurat than they appear! 😉❤️#DreamGirl2on25Aug #25AugustHogaMast#OneMonthToGo@writerraj @ananyapandayy @EktaaRKapoor @balajimotionpic pic.twitter.com/0npWeiXhiv

The concept of cross-dressing men to generate comedic moments has been employed in the past with memorable performances by Kamal Haasan (in Chachi 420), Rajendra Prasad (in Madam), VK Naresh (in Chitram Bhalare Vichitram) and Govinda (in Aunty No 1). It remains to be seen how Ayushmann fares in this classic comedic trope.
Directed by Raaj Shaandilya, the film revolves around Karam (Ayushmann Khurrana), a small-town boy aspiring for success. His life takes a compelling turn when he falls head over heels for Pari (Ananya Panday), leading to a series of events that promise an ultimate twist in the narrative.
The project, produced by Ekta Kapoor, boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh, and Abhishek Banerjee. With such talent on board, Dream Girl 2 is set to captivate audiences with its unique blend of humor and drama, inviting viewers to embark on an unforgettable cinematic journey.
