Allu Arjun grabs Best Actor accolade for Pushpa in impressive victory at 69th National Film Awards

S.S. Rajamouli’s blockbuster “RRR” has emerged triumphant at India’s prestigious National Film Awards, securing an impressive six accolades. The film, which previously clinched both an Oscar and a Golden Globe, clinched the award for Popular Film. Noteworthy recognitions include Best Male Singer awarded to Kaala Bhairava, Background Score to M.M. Keeravani, Special Effects to Srinivas Mohan, Choreography to Prem Rakshith, and Action Direction to King Solomon.

 

The debut directorial venture by actor R. Madhavan, “Rocketry,” soared to victory as it was named Best Film of the year. Meanwhile, Nikhil Mahajan earned the title of Best Director for his work on “Godavari.”

 

In the acting realm, Allu Arjun secured the title of Best Actor for his role in “Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1,” and the film also snagged the award for Best Songs with Devi Sri Prasad’s contribution. Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon jointly celebrated the recognition of Best Actress for their performances in “Gangubai Kathiawadi” and “Mimi,” respectively. Pankaj Tripathi was celebrated as the Supporting Actor for his role in the latter.

 

“Gangubai Kathiawadi” gained further prominence, winning accolades for Adapted Screenplay, Dialog, Editing by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Utkarshini Vashishtha, and Prakash Kapadia, as well as Makeup by Preetisheel Singh D’souza.

 

Pallavi Joshi’s impactful performance in “The Kashmir Files” secured her the Supporting Actress award, while the film was also recognized as the Best Film on National Integration, an award named in honor of the late actress Nargis Dutt.

 

The ceremony also celebrated excellence beyond feature films, with Bhavin Rabari winning the title of Best Child Actor for “Last Film Show,” India’s entry to the Oscars’ international feature category, which also claimed the title of Best Gujarati-language film.

 

The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, praised the remarkable competition and congratulated the winners, emphasizing India’s burgeoning influence as a film-making hub on the global stage.
