75th Primetime Emmy Awards postponed amidst Hollywood strike, new date uncertain

Written by:

The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, originally scheduled for September 18, have been officially postponed for the first time since 2001, as confirmed exclusively by Variety. The decision comes amidst the ongoing writers and actors’ strike that has brought Hollywood to a standstill. With the strike showing no signs of resolution, the new date for the ceremony remains uncertain, but sources suggest it may be pushed to January 2024. Both Fox and the TV Academy, which organizes the Emmys, are closely monitoring the situation and hope for a timely resolution to the strike. Despite the postponement, the final-round voting for the awards will take place between August 17 and August 28. However, the absence of nominated actors and writers during the strike will impact Phase 2 campaigning. HBO’s “Succession” leads the nominations with 27 nods, followed by “The Last of Us” and “The White Lotus.”
